Baby crib sets: What a baby needs
Babies spend a lot of time in their cribs. Hence their cribs need to have everything that they might require in their everyday lives. Baby crib sets are prepared keeping in mind a baby's requirements and can include everything from baby bedding to furniture, and from feeding bottles to pacifiers. Well-organized crib sets also make baby care a much less arduous task than it might seem otherwise.
Baby crib sets consist of various items, all catered towards an individual baby's unique requirements. Some important items that can form part of a baby's crib set include,
-
Baby bedding and blanket:Baby bedding and blanket must be chosen with care. It is better to purchase bedding made of natural fabrics only. This will prevent allergies in babies. Ordinary blankets pose the risk of accidentally riding up during the night, suffocating the baby. Special kinds of wearable blankets known as 'sleep sacks' should be used in order to prevent this. Sleep sacks are available in a variety of natural fabrics, and are great for keeping the baby warm while keeping his/her head exposed. Use of sleep sacks help prevent SIDS in infants.
-
Wedge:The wedge is placed under the crib sheet and helps keep the baby's head in an elevated position in order to facilitate breathing and improve digestion. Wedges also help prevent flathead syndrome, acid reflux and SIDS in infants.
-
Crib tent: These are useful in preventing babies from falling out of their cribs when they are strong enough to stand on their legs. Crib tents cover the top of the crib completely, and are made of transparent polymer, so that the baby can see what's outside the crib.
-
Clothing and bibs: Baby clothing must be made of natural or non-reactive synthetic fabrics. Organic cotton clothes keep babies dry and warm, and do not cause allergies in them. Synthetic fabrics like faux fur, Lycra, etc. are also good for infants, since these are hypo-allergenic and harmless for the baby. Bibs, however, should only be made of natural fabrics like cotton, in order to ensure maximum absorption of moisture.
-
Toys: Toys for babies should be made of non-toxic polymer, or wood. Toys that have small detachable parts in those should not be given to small babies; they may accidentally swallow those parts. The toys should not have any sharp corners, in order to prevent injuries in babies. The color used in toys must be non-toxic, in order to ensure safety of babies while playing with those.
